Day to Day Itinerary

Hotel site inspections are scheduled for days 3-8.

Day 1 | November 9, 2025 - Departure Day to Accra, Ghana

Today you'll begin your journey to Ghana from the United States

Day 2 | November 10, 2025 - Arrival Day to Ghana, Akwaaba Dinner

Akwaaba (Welcome) to Ghana!

After clearing Customs and collecting your luggage, you'll be greeted by your host, TaNisha, and the tour guide outside the airport exit doors.

Upon arrival at our host hotel, you'll have the opportunity to check in, freshen up, and unwind. A local clothes designer will meet us at the host hotel to take our measurements, select fabrics and designs for our customized clothes. Afterwards, our meet & greet dinner will take place at the host hotel, where you'll have the chance to formally meet the hotel owner, our tour guide, and other local business owners during our Akwaaba Meet & Greet Dinner.

This relaxed and welcoming atmosphere will provide the perfect opportunity to connect with other travel agents, as well as to gain insights into the exciting experiences planned for the days ahead.

Day 3 | November 11, 2025 - Accra City Tour

Let's explore Accra on a tour that begins at the W.E.B. Debois Center, followed by a stroll through downtown Accra. We will soak up the vibrant and colorful atmosphere of Oxford Street and stop for some shopping at Global Mama's. We will then visit an ostrich park for a unique experience.

No tour of Ghana is complete without visiting one of the picturesque instrumental monuments and parade grounds that are central to our culture. Drumming plays a significant role in our cultural heritage, so we'll treat you to drumming lessons and danceable drumming sessions. We'll also visit the burial grounds of Kwame Nkrumah, one of the pioneers of Pan-Africanism and Ghana's first president.

Lastly, we'll take you to a local market for an authentic shopping experience.

Day 4 | November 12, 2025 - Ancestorial Route

The Slave River

Today's itinerary includes a visit to the Assin Manso Slave River Site, which marks the location where slaves took their final bath on African soil before being marched to the slave castles.

The Cape Coast Castle

Follow the path flanked by coconut trees and the stunning turquoise ocean, leading you to the "carbo corso," which translates to "short cape" in Portuguese, and onto the second town. The Cape Coast Castle, the largest of its kind, houses the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade.

Day 5 | November 13, 2025 - Cultural Day

Our culture defines our way of life, our identity, and our essence as Ghanaians/Africans. It is a unifying force that ties us to our community, family, and continent.

Today, you'll have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the Ghanaian culture by learning about what takes place during a naming ceremony and visit one of the naming ceremony sites, dress up in colorful garments made from local fabrics, and learn how to shop at a local market for groceries and prepare some of the delicious Ghanaian dishes with the assistance of locals during a cooking class.

Day 6 | November 14, 2025 - The Botanical Garden and Waterfalls

Aburi Botanical Gardens

Embark on an adventure to explore the serene hills of the Eastern Region, beginning with an exploration of nature and gaining knowledge about exotic plants like nutmeg and curry, while enjoying the breathtaking views along the way.

Aburi Crafts Village

Explore the highly innovative community of Aburi's Craft Village, known for its exceptional creativity and skillful artisans. This tour gives you the opportunity to discover the various craft workshops and learn about the intricate process of carving, while also offering you the chance to create your own personalized keychain or wooden souvenir.

Chasing Waterfalls

Venture to the Asenema Waterfalls for a rejuvenating and serene date with nature, traversing the lush, dense

jungles of the Akuapim Mountains to reach the tranquil waters Delight in the journey as it culminates in the embrace of a cozy pool at the waterfall's base.

Day 7 | November 15, 2025 - Travel to Ashanti Region

Fly to Kumasi and visit Manhyia Palace, the central residence of the influential Asantehene. Then, head to the Kente Village, known for its vibrant, handwoven Ghanaian fabric, a symbol of African culture and heritage. Finally, explore the Adinkra Village, famous for its cloth designs with proverbs, traditionally worn at Ashanti funerals in black, brown, and red, and now embraced for various occasions across Ghana.

Day 8 | November 16, 2025 - Volta River Cruise, Music, Relaxation & More

On our final full day in Ghana, we'll immerse ourselves in the stunning landscapes, wildlife, and flora along the Volta River during a day-cruise. Rates are for land only packages. International flights are an additional cost.

Payment Details

  • Deposit Due within 2 days after the receipt of the invoice

  • 1st Payment Due Date - January 31, 2025 (25% of balance)

  • 2nd Payment Due Date - April 30, 2025 (50% of balance)

  • Final Payment Due Date - July 25, 2025 (25% of balance)

PLEASE NOTE:
Payments can be made at any time before the final payment due date.

The minimum payment installment amount should be received by the due dates listed above.

The payment schedule will be readjusted for anyone who registers a payment installment due date.

Travel Documentation Requirements

  1. A valid passport and a visa is required for this trip. Your passport must have the following:

  • At least 2 empty pages

  • An expiration date 6 months or more beyond your return date

  • Must be in good condition - not torn or damaged

  • Must be a booklet not a card

If you do not have a valid passport please CLICK HERE to either apply for a new or renew your passport. It can take up to 16 weeks to receive your passport. Although this may be the most you can expect to wait to get a passport back, you should make every effort to apply as early as possible.

  1. Visa is available on arrival or online

  • Travelers need a visa to visit Ghana for Business or Tourism.

  • A paper or embassy visa is the only visa available for travelers visiting Ghana. The visa is typically a stamp or sticker added to the passport. Travelers must obtain this visa from a local embassy, consulate, or visa center before traveling. The required travel documents and guidance on how to complete the visa application will be provided.

  1. Yellow Fever Vaccination

  • An international certificate of vaccination (yellow vaccination card) for Yellow Fever is required or a waiver from a healthcare provider.

  • Travelers must receive the yellow fever vaccination no later than 10 days before the proposed date of travel.

  • The yellow fever vaccination is good for life.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in this package and will be an additional cost. For hosted getaways, we require all of our clients to secure travel insurance to protect their investment. We will send you a travel insurance quote within 1 business day after you've registered for the trip. However, you are welcome to shop around and secure travel protection through a different company. Proof of travel insurance is due no later than the final payment date.

We highly recommend securing travel insurance within days of securing your deposit so you have the following options available:

  • Cancel for Any Reason Option

  • Pre-existing Medical Condition Waiver

The grace period to obtain travel insurance to have these options available varies for each travel insurance company. Our affliate allows up to 21 days from the day you secure your reservation with a deposit. Also, the closer you get to the departure date the more expensive travel protection can become.

How do I register for this trip?

FOR TRIPS THAT REQUIRES A DIRECT PAYMENT VIA AN INVOICE

There are 4 steps to get registered once you click on the registration button:

Step 1. Complete the travel package & details section.

Click "Submit and Next" at the bottom of the page to proceed to Step 2.

Step 2. Please, read, and sign the travel booking agreement.

Click "Submit and Next" at the bottom of the page to proceed to Step 3.

Step 3. Pay at least the required deposit amount or more via the invoice. Click "Click to Submit Steps 1-3" at the bottom of the page.

Step 4. Once you've submitted steps 1-3, you will receive immediately receive a confirmation email with the secured link to complete or verify your travel profile.

If you are a new client you will need to set up a new travel profile.

If you've traveled with us before please use the email address that we have on file and then verify who you are so your information will autofill in the travel profile form. Making any necessary updates and then submit the form.

Once we receive all of your information you will receive a booking confirmation email or a request for additional information if you missed a step.

What happens if I need assistance registering or have questions about the trip?

Our priority is to assist and answer all of your questions. Please reach out to us via email at [email protected] or [email protected] or give us a call Monday-Friday 12-6 pm CST at 913-709-8398. We will do our best to respond within 1 business day.

Can I make a bigger deposit or pay the trip off in full when I register?

Absolutely! You will have the option to pay a bigger deposit or pay the trip in full.

For invoices that you can make a payment directly, you can also opt to pay your balance in full via Affirm and make payments for up to 18 months. The option to check out with Affirm will appear under the payment button.

Do my roommate and I have to register together?

No. The registration form allows you and your roommate to register separately, ensuring that each of you has your own invoice and receives information firsthand for accuracy. This way, each guest can respond to any requests and contact us directly.

It is also important that everyone handles their own reservation and submits their own payments. This way, if you need to cancel, you can prove that you made payments toward your portion of the trip, facilitating travel vouchers and refunds from the travel insurance company if applicable.

PLEASE NOTE Each guest must register within 24 hours to secure a double occupancy reservation. Please do not register until you roommate is ready to pay their deposit to avoid the reservation being changed to a single occupancy reservation or deletion of the incomplete registration.

Can I pay my roommate's deposit?

Yes. However, if your roommate intends to submit their own payments thereafter, please complete a separate registration form so that we're able to create a separate invoice. You will then use your credit/debit card to pay for their deposit.

For Trips that Require a Credit Card Authorization Form for Autopay - it's important that your roommate change the credit card on file to avoid your credit/debit card from being charged for future payments. We will send out payment reminders with a link to change the credit card on file before we process payment. There is also a link accessible for the credit card authorization form on our website.

For Direct Payment Invoices - DO NOT activate the autopay option when paying the deposit on your roommate's invoice to avoid automatic payment for future payments.

Is travel insurance required?

HOSTED GROUP TRIPS

Travel insurance is required for all participants, which much be secured no later than the final payment due date.

CLIENT TRIPS

We highly recommend that everyone secure travel insurance to protect their investment and for unknown incidents that may require you to cancel your trip, flight delays cancelations, trip interruptions, or medical emergencies, however, it's not required.

If you decline to secure travel insurance we will require you to sign a travel insurance waiver. You will also be responsible for handling any travel issues that would have been ordinarily covered via travel insurance. Please also take into consideration that should you have a medical emergency your medical insurance at home more than likely will not cover you in a different country. You will be required to settle all hospital/emergency care costs at the time of service.

Will my payments be automatically processed?

If you're on an autopay plan your payments will be automatically processed per the due date schedule. Otherwise, you will need to submit your payment manually.

You will receive email reminders before the payment is processed. We also suggest you place a reminder on your calendar so you're aware of when the payments will be processed.

Can I make additional payments or pay off my balance early?

Of course! We welcome you to make additional payments as often as possible so you can pay off your balance early. Should you have a balance left on the payment installment due date, the remaining balance is what will be due. If you're on an autopay plan, the remaining balance will only be processed on the due date.

You can also pay off your balance before the final payment due date.

What happens if I can't make my payments on time?

There is a 7-day grace period after the missed payment installment due date to make the payment without a penalty.

Beginning the 8th day at 12 AM CST after the missed payment installment due date, the reservation will be canceled. The reservation can be reinstated with a $100 reinstatement fee and the outstanding payment amount due. We must receive an email notification no later than the 14th day by 5 PM CST after the missed payment installment due date. The reinstatement fee and outstanding payment amount due must be paid by the 15th day at 5 PM CST. The reservation will be permanently canceled after this time.

There is a $50 late fee for final payments not received on time. The reservation is subject to cancellation at anytime after the final due date.

What happens if my roommate cancels?

Your reservation will be changed to the current single occupancy rate.

What if I need to cancel?

You can either reach out to us via email or go to the website under forms and complete the trip cancellation request form. There is a hosted and regular trip cancellation form available. Please be sure to select the correct one.

We will provide the necessary documentation to submit with your travel insurance claim.

Note: Urban Chic Travelistas is not responsible for the final decision to provide a full or partial refund or deny your claim. We are not responsible for the time it takes to receive reimbursement from the travel insurance company.

If we decide to submit a travel insurance claim and your request is denied, we will not reinstate your trip or transfer your balance to a different person.

Can I book my own international flight?

Yes. You will need to provide us with your flight itinerary no later than the final payment due date and we'll arrange for your airport shuttle transportation. We will notify you if there is an additional cost for the airport transfer.
