The tour guide and travel advisor will be awaiting your arrival at the airport once you’ve collected your luggage and clear Customs.
Once you have settled into your hotel and refreshed yourself our Ghanaian tailor will pay us a visit to take measurements, fabric and clothing style selections so they can begin creating your African attire. We will enjoy a catered dinner at the hotel for our Akwaaba (Welcome) Dinner.
While dining, you will receive an introduction to Ghanaian culture, an overview of your upcoming stay, and information regarding the arrival time of your guide the following day.

Let's explore Accra on a tour that begins at the W.E.B. Debois Center, followed by a stroll through downtown Accra. We will soak up the vibrant and colorful atmosphere of Oxford Street and stop for some shopping at Global Mama's. We will then visit an ostrich park for a unique experience.
No tour of Ghana is complete without visiting one of the picturesque instrumental monuments and parade grounds that are central to our culture. Drumming plays a significant role in our cultural heritage, so we'll treat you to drumming lessons and danceable drumming sessions.
We'll also visit the burial grounds of Kwame Nkrumah, one of the pioneers of Pan-Africanism and Ghana's first president.

The Slave River
Today's itinerary includes a visit to the Assin Manso Slave River Site, which marks the location where slaves took their final bath on African soil before being marched to the slave castles.
Kakum National Park
Begin your adventure by visiting one of Ghana's conservation centers for endangered species, which provides sanctuary for approximately 100 types of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, over 360 bird species, 500 butterfly species, and more than 250,000 insect species.
Elimina Town & The Elimina Castle
Travel back in time to one of Ghana's historic towns that boasts the oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa, which is over 537 years old. This building, located in Elmina Town, was originally the first slave castle in the Gold Coast, now Ghana.
The Cape Coast Castle

PLEASE NOTE:
You can make payments at any time before the due date for any amount.
You will receive payment reminders closer to the due date as a courtesy if there is a balance, however, we encourage you to set up your own reminders.
Missed Payment Installments - There is a 7-day grace period to make a payment installment after the due date. Upon the 8th day after the due date the reservation will be canceled and a $100 reinstatement fee will be required to be paid along with the missed payment installment no later than by the 15th day before 4:59 PM CST after the missed payment due date. The reservation will be permanently canceled on the 15th day at 5 PM and all funds will be forfeited.
Late Final Payments - There is a $50 late final payment fee. The reservation in subject to cancellation at any point after the final payment due date. There will be no 15 day window after the missed payment due date to receive payment.
A valid passport and a visa is required for this trip. Your passport must have the following:
At least 2 empty pages
An expiration date 6 months or more beyond your return date
Must be in good condition - not torn or damaged
Must be a booklet not a card
If you do not have a valid passport please CLICK HERE to either apply for a new or renew your passport. It can take up to 16 weeks to receive your passport. Although this may be the most you can expect to wait to get a passport back, you should make every effort to apply as early as possible.
Visa is available on arrival or online
Travelers need a visa to visit Ghana for Business or Tourism.
A paper or embassy visa is the only visa available for travelers visiting Ghana. The visa is typically a stamp or sticker added to the passport. Travelers must obtain this visa from a local embassy, consulate, or visa center before traveling. The required travel documents and guidance on how to complete the visa application will be provided.
Yellow Fever Vaccination
An international certificate of vaccination (yellow vaccination card) for Yellow Fever is required or a waiver from a healthcare provider.
Travelers must receive the yellow fever vaccination no later than 10 days before the proposed date of travel.
The yellow fever vaccination is good for life.
Travel insurance is not included in this package and will be an additional cost. For hosted getaways, we require all of our clients to secure travel insurance to protect their investment. We will send you a travel insurance quote within 1 business day after you've registered for the trip. However, you are welcome to shop around and secure travel protection through a different company. Proof of travel insurance is due no later than the final payment date.
We highly recommend securing travel insurance within days of securing your deposit so you have the following options available:

No. The registration form allows you and your roommate to register separately, ensuring that each of you has your own invoice and receives information firsthand for accuracy. This way, each guest can respond to any requests and contact us directly.
It is also important that everyone handles their own reservation and submits their own payments. This way, if you need to cancel, you can prove that you made payments toward your portion of the trip, facilitating travel vouchers and refunds from the travel insurance company if applicable.
PLEASE NOTE Each guest must register within 24 hours to secure a double occupancy reservation. Please do not register until you roommate is ready to pay their deposit to avoid the reservation being changed to a single occupancy reservation or deletion of the incomplete registration.
Yes. However, if your roommate intends to submit their own payments thereafter, please complete a separate registration form so that we're able to create a separate invoice. You will then use your credit/debit card to pay for their deposit.
For Trips that Require a Credit Card Authorization Form for Autopay - it's important that your roommate change the credit card on file to avoid your credit/debit card from being charged for future payments. We will send out payment reminders with a link to change the credit card on file before we process payment. There is also a link accessible for the credit card authorization form on our website.
For Direct Payment Invoices - DO NOT activate the autopay option when paying the deposit on your roommate's invoice to avoid automatic payment for future payments.
HOSTED GROUP TRIPS
Travel insurance is required for all participants, which much be secured no later than the final payment due date.
CLIENT TRIPS
We highly recommend that everyone secure travel insurance to protect their investment and for unknown incidents that may require you to cancel your trip, flight delays cancelations, trip interruptions, or medical emergencies, however, it's not required.
If you decline to secure travel insurance we will require you to sign a travel insurance waiver. You will also be responsible for handling any travel issues that would have been ordinarily covered via travel insurance. Please also take into consideration that should you have a medical emergency your medical insurance at home more than likely will not cover you in a different country. You will be required to settle all hospital/emergency care costs at the time of service.
If you're on an autopay plan your payments will be automatically processed per the due date schedule. Otherwise, you will need to submit your payment manually.
You will receive email reminders before the payment is processed. We also suggest you place a reminder on your calendar so you're aware of when the payments will be processed.
Can I make additional payments or pay off my balance early?
Of course! We welcome you to make additional payments as often as possible so you can pay off your balance early. Should you have a balance left on the payment installment due date, the remaining balance is what will be due. If you're on an autopay plan, the remaining balance will only be processed on the due date.
You can also pay off your balance before the final payment due date.
There is a 7-day grace period after the missed payment installment due date to make the payment without a penalty.
Beginning the 8th day at 12 AM CST after the missed payment installment due date, the reservation will be canceled. The reservation can be reinstated with a $100 reinstatement fee and the outstanding payment amount due. We must receive an email notification no later than the 14th day by 5 PM CST after the missed payment installment due date. The reinstatement fee and outstanding payment amount due must be paid by the 15th day at 5 PM CST. The reservation will be permanently canceled after this time.
There is a $50 late fee for final payments not received on time. The reservation is subject to cancellation at anytime after the final due date.
Your reservation will be changed to the current single occupancy rate.
You can either reach out to us via email or go to the website under forms and complete the trip cancellation request form. There is a hosted and regular trip cancellation form available. Please be sure to select the correct one.
We will provide the necessary documentation to submit with your travel insurance claim.

If we decide to submit a travel insurance claim and your request is denied, we will not reinstate your trip or transfer your balance to a different person.
Yes. You will need to provide us with your flight itinerary no later than the final payment due date and we'll arrange for your airport shuttle transportation. We will notify you if there is an additional cost for the airport transfer.
